‘Artists for Action United’ is a creative arts group designed to provide an inspiring and challenging space for artist and revolutionaries alike, to explore the issues and topics that matter to you. It is the call to action, to find your voice, express your cause and speak your truth and THE truth.
Through a creative arts process, this group seeks to support you in unlocking the revolutionary within as you explore, unpack, express and communicate the issues that deeply impact you and call you to action with the view of finding a sense of purpose, meaning and comradery with likeminded others. Hence, this is a process of expression and meaning making with the intention of creating a visual art piece that communicates your cause and can be exhibited as a group at the end of the program.
This group is divided into 2 parts: –
Weeks 1-8 weekly group process to explore, identify and begin understanding your cause and planning the expression and execution of your creative project. The idea is to cultivate a strong sense of purpose, meaning and shared passion amongst the group participants as a way of inspiring, motivating and encouraging action in constructive, creative and powerful ways.
Then a monthly group gathering and process for 4 months aimed at working on your art project with others, with the view of maintaining connection and offering ongoing inspiration, feedback co-construction of meaning making and personal challenge.
Duration of Group: 6-months, divided into two parts – 3-hour group week 1-8, 4-hour
group monthly for 4 months
Art materials supplied. Some speciality materials will need to be purchased at
participants cost.
